cannot use environment variables in export path?

Postby jrbrown00 » Mon Dec 31, 2012 2:59 pm

I am running firefox from a flash drive (sometimes a temporary hard drive folder), so I cannot use a fully qualified path for the export directory because the drive letter varies. I have an environment variable %_F_% which contains the path. I want to specify this as my export directory: %_F_%\d0\config\firefoxOpie. The dialog does not work unless I have a fully qualified path like this: c:\users\JBrown\d\df\d0\config\firefoxOpie.

This used to work for older releases of firefox and opie. Have I encountered a bug or a feature?

If it worked before, it must have been Firefox that changed. I don't have any explicit code to expand system variables in OPIE.

You can, however, assign a permanent drive letter to the flash drive. Google "persistent drive letter usb drive" for information about how this is done.
