* * Febe / Opie not save all options * *

Postby FatFreddy44 » Fri Dec 05, 2014 10:40 am

I have used Febe and Opie for a long time, and am very happy with how they work
together to help me restore Firefox when I do a reset. However, I have learned
that some options / settings are not saved. I discovered how to fix this.

Some options are stored in the users jetpack folder, under the name of the
add-on, or its ID number. In each sub-folder is a simple-storage folder. And
in this folder is a store.json file that saves the settings / options.

The work around for this is to include the jetpack folder (or all of the wanted
sub folders) in the User-Defined Backups under the What to Backup setting.

Thanks for pointing this out. This is exactly the kind of thing the FEBE User-defined Backup function was written for.

Freddy, how did you figure this out, if you don't mind my asking? Was it just manually poking around folders for settings, or did you use a tool to watch for disk-writes, like Process Monitor or something?

Chuck -- as for the FEBE function, does that just take the entire folder? Or will it delineate/extract individual settings?

FEBE user-defined backups are either entire folders or a single, individual item. You specify which when you define the backup.

I found out that some options were not saved. I wandered why, and started poking around the user profile folder. I finally found those
in the Jetpac folder. I would recommend saving the whole Jetpac folder.
