Write prviliges Windows 10

Postby Jota » Fri Aug 12, 2016 4:41 am

Hi Chuck.

Great extensions! An issue I encountered is when I set the download/save location for exporting the OPIE file is the Windows 10 protection. If I create a folder in My Documents the file will not save there, if I create the folder on Desktop the file does save then I have to drag the folder into My Documents (where I get the usual pop up 'requires admin permission'). How can I give OPIE the required permissions to write into My Documents permanently?

Thanks in advance.

You can set folder permissions in Windows 10 by right-clicking the folder > Properties > Security and giving all users Full control.

But is it wise to do this? Wouldn't it be safer to create a folder (say, C:/OPIE) and give it full control for all users? I honestly don't know what the ramifications would be for modifying permissions for My Documents.

OK Chuck, that seems like a sensible alternative. Thanks again.
