When attempting a profile restore the file picker opens to the correct folder but does not see the files. It's looking for "profileFx3{*}.tbu" when the backup was saved as "profileTb{*}.tbu".

What your reporting are signs of code changes in Shredder related to KillRDF and other refactoring work. The effected extensions are trying to use code that no longer exists, so the extensions are now throwing errors.

But those errors are thrown only if TEBE is installed. Without TEBE, none of those errors exist in Error Console.

OK, the redeclaration errors messages:

Error: redeclaration of const MSG_FLAG_READ
Source file: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.js Line: 3

Error: redeclaration of const kViewItemAll
Source file: chrome://messenger/content/msgViewPickerOverlay.js Line: 43

Do happen only when TEBE is active.

A nit about the TEBE version No. used in the Biff popup. It still reads version 6.0 when TEBE is now a beta for what is likely version 1.0.

This is the last of the things I have been looking at. I have not tried a restore, so no feedback on the save/restore functions reliability.

Generally the extension looks good and should be well received by the Tb users. Tools such as this one have been in short supply during the past 6 years.

Ok, I will submit TEBE to Babelzilla.org for l10n this weekend. Thank you all for the beta testing! Very much appreciated.

TEBE Problem with TB3.B3

Postby DiabolusCanis » Wed Jul 22, 2009 2:32 pm

Hi Chuck:

I installed Thunderbird B3 today and have encountered a problem with TEBE beta20090111_192528. The "TEBE Backup in progress ... Please Wait" popup window doesn't go away until I click on "Abort". TEBE does seem to perform the backup, however.

Thanks for your TEBE development efforts!

Thanks for the report! FEBE did the same thing before, so TEBE probably inherited it. I get it fixed in the next update.

With Thunderbird 3.0 b3, TEBE (20090111_192528) isn't closing for me either, although the (selective) backup seems to be done. Progress bar keeps going, and message is stuck at "Preparing results page...". Clicking Abort clears it. Error Console has this error message:
Error: invalid 'in' operand aArgs
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/tabmail.xml
Line: 428

Couple of other small things happening (or, rather, not happening) for me, that I haven't seen mentioned here.

In Options, under Directory, set the backup destination directory, but the button to View that directory seems to do nothing. When I select the timestamped directories to be in the ISO format, the existing directories are not renamed.

Under Schedule, set a weekly backup, and clicked on Set Schedule Time. I expected the notification there to update, but it didn't. After a restart of TB, it was displayed.

Under Debug, I cleared my preferences, but TB was not re-started automatically.

Oh, and I have deleted the three extension files in my profile.
