Component returned failure code: 0xc1f30001 (NS_ERROR_NOT_IN

Hi,

I am running Thunderbird 3.0 and have installed TEBE beta(20090111_192528). I have it set to perform a daily backup (full profile) at 11p. For the past two to three days, I am greeted with the following error notification when I come into work in the morning:

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0xc1f30001 (NS_ERROR_NOT_INITIALIZED)
[nsIZipWriter.addEntryFile]" nsresult: "0xc1f30001 (NS_ERROR_NOT_INITIALIZED)" location: "JS
frame :: chrome://tebe/content/tebeZip.js :: anonymous :: line 80" data: no]

Error adding Mail/Local Folders/Inbox.sbd/Elkhorn.msf to zip archive

TEBE successfully created the folder for the backup in the desired location, and I find the "profileTB{default}.tbu file but seem to be missing the accompanying "Results" html file and the TEBE.xpi file. I believe the latter is being copied because I selected the "Include a copy of TEBE" options section.

Is this a bug, or some sort of conflict with another addon? I am running "Minimize to Tray 1.5", "Reminder Fox 1.9.6", "Silvermel and Charamel XT 1.3.1", and "Smooth Wheel 0.44.19.2009811.3".

Do you have (or did at one time) a subfolder named "Elkhorn"? TEBE is have a problem reading it. Try compacting your folders and see it the error goes away.

Yes, there is a local file where email from a client named "Elkhorn" are kept. I will try compacting. Thanks for the insight :D.

A quick followup question, is this a problem due to a windows process having a lock on the directory? I'm responsible for getting automatic email backup going at our office, and I want to know how to prevent this occurrence in the future.

TEBE (and FEBE, for that matter) cannot process locked files. I maintain a list of known lock files within the code and simply skip them if they are encountered. These are typically profile lock files and sqlite tmp files that don't really need to be backed up anyway. No one has mentioned having problems with Tb inbox files before, so I'm guessing it is just a fluke in your particular case.

Did compacting the Tb folders resolve the problem?

I will check back tomorrow morning when my auto backup runs again. I'll be sure to update you on this.

I just realized that "tomorow" morning meant Saturday ;). I checked this morning, and the backup routine seems to have completed successfully Saturday and Sunday. Thanks again Chuck for the advice.
