Great news, thank you! Are there any changes from the previous working 8.3.1 version? Couldn't find v10 release notes. Do we need to reset all preferences to default?

FEBE v10.0 uses the core of v8.3.1 but the added options in v8.9.3.1. It probably would be best to reset the prefs, just to be sure.

FEBE 10: Options dialog too big, can't resize

Postby VLM » Sat Nov 11, 2017 6:14 pm

Greetings Chuck, and congratulations on the new releases. You did exactly what you said you would do ... Kudos for that!

I have just installed FEBE 10, and the options dialog is far larger than my screen. I cannot access enough of it to make it usable. I do use nonstandard system resolution settings, to accommodate my eyesight. Pale Moon (and other applications) seem to pick up on the setting, but perhaps FEBE is not. Or perhaps it's something else. In any event, would it be feasible to make the options dialog resizable? That would enable anyone with any combination of display and eyesight to use it with ease.

Kind regards,
Elchanan

I get the large window issue every now and then too, you just have to move it around a bit or close and reopen it (by selecting OK with pressing Enter, for example) and it'll be normally re-sizeable again.

Thank you. I am getting this issue consistently, and the dialog is so large that I cannot do as you suggest. By this, I mean that if the top displays, then the OK button is off screen (though I can selected by pressing "Enter"), and if the OK button displays, then the top of the dialog is off screen and I cannot select tabs. Since there is (apparently) no ctrl-tab function (or similar) that enables tab selection via the keyboard, I am stuck.

In order to configure FEBE 10 anew, I set the screen resolution high. Even then, the options dialog filled the screen, but I was able to effect settings. Then I reset the screen resolution back to something suitable for my eyes.

So for the moment, problem worked around. But it does appear to me that something's afoot in the code.

Simply pressing Enter (OK) should close the Options window. Failing that, make sure the window is selected by clicking on it and then press Alt+F4 (close window, it's a global Windows shortcut).

Please see .

The way it is supposed to work is the browser remembers the size of the option window when closed, and adjusts it to that size the next time it is opened. But it seems that every so often it forgets those size dimensions and opens it very large. Since it's not consistent, it's hard to debug.

FEBE 10 - Options dialog resize

Postby VLM » Sun Nov 12, 2017 10:15 am

Thanks Chuck. The method you suggest in the linked post works, but only for the current use. When the dialog is closed and reopened, it appears "too large" once again.

Still, having a consistent, easy, keyboard-driven workaround is good enough for me. Thanks again!

Tried to save my profile in Pale Moon but the "FEBE backup in progress" window is at 100% but doesn't close. Guess I'm gonna have to press the Abort button.

Edit: It worked now, I had to check "Use timestamped directories". But if I select "Full profile" it is not saving the extensions even if they are checked. Had to select "Selective profile" to backup the extensions.

A Full Profile backup does backup your extensions, but not individually like the Selective Backup does. Extensions cannot (easily) be restored from a full profile backup without restoring the entire profile.

I'm writing several fixes for FEBE - Pale Moon. The current version is having problems restoring certain types of extensions. You can follow the progress in .

Perhaps it will work better with the future version, .
